Dr. Ann Marie Nguyen is a board certified, licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist. After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelors in Psychobiology, she was awarded dual graduate degrees at Bastyr University, one of the nation’s leading academic institutions devoted to the natural health sciences.
Dr. Nguyen has practiced around the world, from working with non-profit organizations in Kenya to Traditional Chinese Medicine hospitals in Shanghai. Her medical practice integrates Western Medicine with the time honored treatments and philosophies of the Eastern and Naturopathic disciplines. Dr. Nguyen offers natural solutions to healthcare, treatments that stimulate and support the inherent healing abilities of each individual. She is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where she can work with patients to provide them with the tools and information they need to make choices for optimal wellness.
Through internships and volunteer work at hospitals all over Los Angeles, Dr. Nguyen discovered that disease and illness oftentimes stems from the disruption of multiple aspects of an individual’s life. She was also introduced to the mind-body connection while studying Psychobiology at UCLA, and realized how important a healthy mind was to a healthy life and body. These ideas remained with her, from her medical studies in Seattle, to her additional training in Shanghai. In Shanghai, she worked with doctors in various departments including Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, etc. She also spent time in Kenya, providing natural healthcare and health-related workshops to three different rural villages. Through this exposure she’s experienced the benefits of integrating Western Medicine with the clinical wisdom behind Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Nguyen takes into account the physical, emotional, biochemical, physiological, psychological, and environmental aspects of a person when approaching their health. She believes this is crucial in understanding her patients, their condition, and what is the best clinical approach to take. This “WHOLE-istic” approach focuses on tackling the root cause of the illness.
Amazed by the engineering magnificence of the human body, Dr. Nguyen is impressed with each individual’s capacity to heal him/herself, given the right stimulus. Treatments are directed at activating this innate healing mechanism. These include, but are not limited to:
