Naturopathic medicine is a medical system that focuses on natural healing methods. Naturopathic doctors believe that the body can heal itself once obstacles are removed and the body is restored to balance. Obstacles to health include poor nutrition and toxic exposure. Imbalances stem from weaknesses in various systems, such as immune, hormonal, digestive, elimination, and nervous systems.

Initial Visit

Naturopathic doctors also look at the individual holistically. Initial treatment begins with an extensive interview and history of the patient, and includes questions pertaining to mind, body, and spirit.

Naturopathic Treatment

The doctor then provides treatment recommendations, which may include some laboratory testing (e.g. blood or urine tests). Treatment will likely include diet and lifestyle recommendations along with specific therapies, such as herbal medicine, homeopathic medicine, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and bodywork. Results

You can expect to progress toward good health during you treatment. Keep in mind that Naturopathic doctors do not believe in merely suppressing your symptoms. Symptoms are the body trying to heal itself. Naturopathic medicine is about getting to the root of the problem and assist your body to restore itself to health. You also have some control over the speed of recovery with consistent application of the the diet and lifestyle recommendations of your doctor.
